We released our audited financial results for 2018, a year that saw us increase our consolidated total assets to USD 16.8 billion, despite challenging global economic conditions. We made our second investment in Spain by acquiring a significant minority equity stake in Premo Group, a leading manufacturer of customised passive electromagnetic components for applications in the automotive, telecommunications and electronics industries, amongst others. With a global upsurge in electric vehicle production and sales, this investment provides significant long-term backing for Premo’s ambitious global expansion.

Mumtalakat, Fajr Capital, and Blackstone invested in GEMS Education in 2014 and subsequently partnered with the Varkey Group to build the company into a world-class institution and support its long-term growth. Since then, GEMS Education has delivered strong financial and academic results, invested over USD 1 billion to build sixteen new schools and upgrade existing infrastructure, and grown in its existing market, namely the UAE, as well as entering into new markets such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
